本当にその世界にいるような気分になった。
今回のエピソードも本当によかったです。

Man, going back to an episode a week is gonna suck. I binged the 4 eps and I’m already so immersed. Really felt like I was in that world. This episode was really nice too. Cleaning up the sea. Fern is like the mother now lol. Seems Frieren is at least a 1000 years old. So understandable that hundreds of thousands of sunsets she could’ve experienced isn’t doing much for her now. Meanwhile, humans who have a lot less amount to see it, will try to embrace every chance they can get

Himmel knew that even if she’s not exactly motivated by the festival that the connection to the people is something she’d appreciate even if she’s a bit distant. And she finally realised what he was trying to convey to her when she participated in the festivities with Fern.

I think her lifespan only seems significant in comparison to humans. If everyone lived longer, things would likely be relatively the same. Maybe not, since the adult phase of life would be longer relative to growing up, but pretty similar. Similarly, if we had 30 hours a day, we would find more tasks to fill in those extra hours and be just as busy.

Honestly makes me wonder what’s the average for elves in this world. Was assuming Frieren wasn’t fully grown yet, but that’s a crazy amount of time. Wondering if there’s something weirder going on, like elves not even really being a biological race so much as people made by the Goddess ages in the past, or if maybe Frieren’s an exception even among elves, say if their longevity is based on magical ability she could be to normal elves what they are to humans.

フリーレンがかつてのフランメの家（＝巨木）のバリアを下ろしたシーンについて誰も語らないのが不思議だ。
木の根がフリーレンの目の前で開き、フランメのメモが書かれた冊子のページが宙に浮きながらめくられていくシーンはすごかったよ。
I’m surprised that nobody is talking about the scene in which Frieren lowered the barrier on her former master’s home (i.e. huge tree). That was an absolutely beautiful moment of animation: watching these tree roots open up right in front of Frieren as the booklet with Flamme’s notes had its pages turned over as it gravitated in the air.

Eisen *has* grown older and weaker. 80 years is enough time for a dwarf to age significantly. That’s why he mocks Frieren’s sense of time. The manga went a little further to show this by making hiS arms really skinny in the present(compared to flashbacks showing him with huge biceps and forearms) but for some reason the anime hasn’t kept that.

I love that transition when Eisen begins praying. The shot stays the same, but his hands wrinkle and the foliage changes around him as the plants grow. I also think Heiter’s view on heaven is nice; who cares if you can prove it? Isn’t it nicer to think it exists? But then we learn that it is real, just currently occupied… by demons.

このアニメとフリーレンの旅は、ファイナルファンタジーやマスエフェクトのような長いRPGを終えた後、無視したサイドクエストを全部やろうと粘っているときを思い出させる。
And this kids, is why being immortal or living for too long fucking sucks. This anime and Frieren journey reminds me of when you stick around after finishing a long rpg like final fantasy or mass effect trying to do all the side quest you ignored, then you realize that you missed so much and that most of these quest cant be done anymore so you have to start a new game or go into new game+
