私にとっては『もののけ姫』。
何年もの間、文字通り何百回も観ているが、一度も飽きることがない。
美術、サウンドデザイン、ストーリー、テーマ、音楽、どれをとっても完璧に近い。
Princess Mononoke for me. I have watched this movie literally hundreds of times over the years, and I have never grown tired of it. For me it is the closest thing to perfection in terms of art, sound design, story, theme, and music.

2ヶ月ほど前にこのアニメを見終えてから、私の新しいお気に入りアニメになった。
Yes, do it! Just skip the first two episodes, as they were made for manga readers and aren’t the best start if you don’t know who the characters are; you can go back and watch them later. It’s been my new favorite anime of all time since I finished it about two months ago, and I *still* can’t believe it dethroned Gundam Unicorn for me.

カナダで公開されたこの番組をテレビで見て、まあまあだと思ったのを覚えている。
でも、その後、ストーリーがそのまま収録されたオリジナルの日本公開版を見つけて、実際の内容に圧倒されたんだ。
I remember watching the Canadian release of that show on tv and thinking it was alright. But then I went and found the original Japanese release with the story in tact and was blown away by what it actually was.

Maybe Galaxy Express 999. I have some pretty fond memories of secretly staying up way past my bedtime as a kid and catching these older anime on late night tv. Any of them would do. Akira, Macross Plus, Patlabor, Ninja Scroll, etc.
