半分くらい見た時点で、「あれ？ 今回のオープニングってフェイク？」って思っちゃったよ。
ヒナタが平和的解決を選ぶみたいだったし。
スライムのアニメで、オープニングでリムルが戦ってるシーンがあるけど、実際のエピソードではそんなことなかったり、せいぜいちょっとした小競り合いだけだったりするの、これが初めてじゃないよね。
I mean, half way through this episode I thought we got a false opening since Hinata seemed to opt on a peaceful solution. I think this is not the first time in slime where in the opening Rimuru is shown fighting someone that just didn’t happen in the episode himself. Or at least it was only a small clash.

どちらかと言うと、S1のオープニングへのオマージュっぽい感じがするね。
S1のオープニングでは、ほぼ同じ設定でヒナタとの戦いが描かれてるけど、実際にその戦いが起こったのはS2で、しかも場所は開けた野原だったんだ。
If anything, it seems like a homage to the original S1 opening. The S1 opening shows a fight with Hinata in pretty much the same setting, but that fight didn’t happen until S2 and it was in an open field.

Yep, it is reasonably obvious that the message was tampered with. Coupled with, as Hinata noted, the Luminaries trying to set her up in a mutual-kill fight with Rimuru or Veldora, along with the killing of the Archbishop so he could not bring information back and the syncronised spreading of the rumors about his death causing the Church Knights to all rise to join Falmuth, multiple parties are acting again to cause issues.

要するに、立場の問題だよね。

It’s a hierarchy problem.  Hinata needs to hide the goddess’s identity from others, but this ends up creating doubts about the veracity of her existence. So Hinata cannot publicly refuse an order from the 7 Luminaries, since they are at the top of the organization.

It’s not a misunderstanding. It’s a setup. Hinata is already aware the eastern merchant was using her. And the message Rimuru gave her was clearly manipulated. Rimuru wouldn’t possibly sent her a message that was so blatantly a 1v1 challenge when he clearly just wanted to talk. It has to be deep fake. Get use to it because we’ll be seeing a lot of it in our world soon with generative AI.

We already basically know they’ll fight thanks to the OP, and the only reason they’ll have to fight is if either of them fail at basic communication, since Hinata has already said she wants to try to talk it out. この番組、めっちゃ単純で予測可能なのに、進み方が遅すぎるよね。
ストーリーが深くてよく練られてるならこのペースでもいいけど、実際は全然深くないし、考え抜かれてる感じもしないし。
This show so far has been way too slow paced for it to be so simple and obvious. I’d be fine with this pace and level of build up if they were actually making it a deep and well written story but it’s definitely not deep or well thought out at all.

She knows the situation is a trap, but she may not suspect that the sword itself is one (if it is). She’d need some kind of help to be able to fight Veldora, so the sword’s role *could* just be to make her a real threat to him. She’s also playing along with the floaty guys’ plan, so it might raise *their* suspicions if she just left it behind.

レイヒムは会議に着く前に殺されて入れ替えられたか、それ以前に頭をいじられてから後で殺されたかのどっちかだね。
メッセージが変わった理由は他に考えられないし（リムルのメッセージが1対1の呼び出しになるはずがないことは明らかだし）、戦場で何があったかの真実もバラされるはずがなかったはず。
会議エピソードとしてはいつもよりマシだったけど、次回がまた会議だらけじゃないといいな…。
So Reyhiem was either killed and replaced before he reached the meeting or they tampered with his mind before that point and killed him later. There is no other explanation for the message being changed(it’s pretty clear Rimuru’s message wasn’t supposed to be a call to a 1v1) and I’m pretty sure the truth about what happened on the battlefield wasn’t supposed to be revealed either. As far as meeting episodes go it was better than usual, hopefully next episode isn’t even more meetings though…

OOF. It could not be more obvious that those Seven Luminaries guys killed Reyhiem, replaced him with a body double, and changed Rimuru’s message to Hinata. People are moving in the shadows to create misunderstandings and outright lies to try to pit them against each other. Wonder how it will go. This episode was a lot better than last week’s, and next week’s looks like it will be even better. We’re finally over the meeting hump LESSGOO

I probably need to go back and rewatch the previous episode, but I think there was like some magical barrier covering the meeting place that prevented Diablo from seeing what would happen once Reyheim entered the building. The Seven Luminaries, after killing Reyheim, probably dumped his body in a river or something and that’s how Diablo found out he died lol

会議が終わるまでリムルにレイヒムの死を伝えなかったことから、その時点まではレイヒムが生きていたと考えるのが妥当だね。
Diablo would know exactly when Reyhiem died because his skill automatically claims the souls of his servants when they die. Even if he couldn’t spy on Reyhiem directly, he was quite confident that Reyhiem was alive because he didn’t have his soul yet. Since he didn’t inform Rimuru of the death until after the conference, it’s reasonable to assume Reyhiem was alive until that time.

Also since Rimuru is such good friends with Milim and Veldora already, that would potentially be opening up Luminous’s county to be attacked by them in retribution for going after Tempest.

I didn’t even bother trying to remember the names of Hinata’s knights other than Saare the loudmouth, Glenda the hot teasing one, and that Nicolaus guy who is probably one of the few to bring out Hinata’s softer side.

世界観構築とか会話のキャッチーさは大好きだけど、今のところマジで…なんだこれ。
今のエピソードって、リーダーに注目して、セリフ言って、返事して、たまに場面が変わるかなって期待するけど、すぐ戻っちゃうのよ。
みんな、ストーリーテリングの基本がなってないよね。
5話もずっと説明ばかりで、見せてくれないの。
まぁ、少なくとも今は話が動き出してるみたいだけど。
While I love worldbuilding and a good dialogue, just… damn son atm. All the episodes are nothing but look to leader, say statement, respond, maybe a scene shift if we’re lucky, then shift back. We’re breaking a cardinal rule of storytelling here people. They’re telling, not showing, for 5 ENTIRE episodes. At least now it seems the plot is moving.

その会議、ほとんどが既知の情報の繰り返しだったんだよね、最悪だった。
世界観を作るっていうのを、キャラクターが立ち話してるだけで何かを説明してると思ってる人、多すぎ。
会議で話してた情報を集める過程を見せてくれた方がずっと良かったのに。
そうすれば、そのキャラクターや話題に出てた場所について、もっと深く理解できたかもしれないのにね。
It’s worse, much of that meeting was just recounting information that we the audience already knew. Way too many people seem to think good world building is characters standing around explaining things for someone to put in a wiki. It would have been far better if we’d seen something of how those at the meeting gathered the information. Maybe we’d have got a bit more insight into their characters and the places they were talking about.

The meetings in S2 were full of stalling recaps and straight up dumb conversations like “I need proof you’ll be a good king! Why do you want to rule?” “To impress my girlfriend who tried to destroy our kingdom a few days ago lmao” “Uh-huh, ok. Makes sense. Moving on.” Here, the intrigue is extant, at least.

Post Demon Lord Rimuru really has alot of setup for the future. So many things are put into motion at the same time. Surprised they managed to put it all on the table in only 5 episodes.

確かに「遅い」って言われるけど、各エピソードがあっという間に感じる！
オーバーロードのアニメがこんな風に省略しなければよかったのにって思うタイプだよ。
The world-building we get in these episodes is nice. Sure it’s “slow” but every episode feels so short! This is the kind of thing I wish the overlord anime hadn’t skipped so much of.

It was at least more interesting than the Tempest meeting because we get more insight into Lubellious’ forces and Hinata as a character compared to just the entire recap that didn’t really go anywhere that was the Tempest meeting.

These Saints ought to be good boys and girls and listen to Luminus. When she says not to tangle with Rimuru because he’s got Veldora on his side, they should listen. Though it seems these damn Clergy guys have other things planned. Rimuru can’t go a week without some mfer plotting his death. Reyheim’s gone and these temple knights are rallying to Edward’s side… things are gonna get a little messy for our friends in Tempest.

たくさんの人が会議形式を嫌ってるけど、私はめっちゃ好きなんだよね。
色んな権力構造がぶつかり合いながら、力を争ったり、共通の目標に向かって協力したりする様子を見るのが面白いんだ。
So many people hate the meeting format but I absolutely love it. The culmination of various power structures coming together and butting heads as they either vie for power or cooperate harmoniously towards a shared goal has been fun to watch.
